Case study Project Roof restoration Otahuhu Auckland.
Overlayed with GAF 1.5mm TPO. The existing Butyl was very tired and long past its use by date.
Historically interesting as this was built by the American Army 1940’s and was used to manufacture ammunition and artillery shells. The construction was all solid concrete. We purposely utilized the existing membrane on account of the rough concrete roof surface, this in effect was good protection for the new TPO overlay. The overlay TPO was mechanically fixed 300 center’s along the selvage edge. We also re pitched with tanalised ply to correct falls all internal gutters. The gutters were fully glue bonded.
